What if it was all true?

Sitting on top of a mountain in the sacred valley of Peru on a Sunday morning, watching the dust slowly lift from the mountains around me, feeling the sun getting stronger by the second, listening to the buzzing of bees, the birds and the wind, I couldn't help but wonder:
What if it was all true?
What if stones could talk and giants existed and mermaids lived at the bottom of waterfalls? What if there were treasures hidden where the rainbows end? What if all the stories of the Goddesses, Villains, Tricksters and Sorceresses of the old time happened exactly as they have been told for thousands of years?
What shifts if we believe in the cosmos as a living and breathing entity – with its own stories and feelings and secret desires? What changes when we give meaning to everything we see, when we personify nature, when we mythologize our lives, when we see our journey as a sacred initiatory process that ultimately leads us to uncover the biggest secret of all?
What if stories were the true language of the soul – and mythology our gateway to remembering? What if each and every one of us was, in fact, a living and breathing mythology?
What if, indeed?
